This temple has one of the largest temples with intricate structures in India. Thiruchendur temple is the richest temple amid the famous temples in Tamilnadu. This was the temple built by saints and it is ISO certified. The temple emphasizes RajaGopuram (gateway tower) in the western gate which is a rare occurence.

This temple lies on the banks of River Cauvery. The temple stairs has 60 steps resembling 60 tamil years. Lord Muruga temple is at the top and his parents’ temples are at the bottom. Vaikasi visagam is famous in this temple
